◆ Quality Series · Part 6
In short: three inspection gates and a controlled release stand between raw material and a shipped box.
Three tiers of inspection
| Gate | What is checked |
|---|---|
| Incoming | Povidone-iodine available iodine & pH, cotton, plastic stick (hardness / dimensions / head adhesion), packaging |
| In-process | First-article check, impregnation / fluid content, seal, routine patrols |
| Finished lot | Appearance, size, hardness, head adhesion, wet/dry weight, fluid content, available iodine / pH / Pb-As-Hg, fluorescence, kill, seal integrity |
Controlled release
- A lot is released only after the batch and quality records are complete, all results pass, and the label / UDI is verified.
- An authorised releaser signs the release — it is not automatic.
- A COA per lot is issued.
- Retention samples are kept and observed, including the stability programme of the next chapter.
For buyers — what to ask for: a COA per lot covering the key attributes, and the retention-sample policy. Both are signs of a controlled release, not a paperwork afterthought.
