◆ Quality Series · Part 7
In short: the pouch seal is a quality attribute, not just packaging. It is what keeps concentration and fluid volume true across a multi-year shelf life.

How we test the seal

Every batch goes through a vacuum leak test — 500 mmHg held for 10 minutes — to confirm there is no leak path. A pad that passes here is one whose alcohol can not quietly escape on the shelf.

The barrier film

The pouch is a barrier laminate chosen to resist alcohol permeation. Alcohol is volatile; a lesser film would let it migrate out over time. The right film keeps the pad saturated at the correct concentration until the moment it is opened.

Shelf life and retention samples

Shelf life is supported by retention samples kept and observed across the product's life. A weak seal shows up as evaporation and weight loss — which is exactly why seal integrity and shelf life belong in the same chapter. Protect the seal and you protect the other three attributes over time.

For buyers — what to ask for: confirmation that seal / leak testing is run on every batch, and the stated shelf life with the storage conditions it assumes.
